Hire a dedicated development team that stays, ships and scales
A full development team assembled around your stack, your timeline and your product — not a marketplace of strangers or a bench of recycled contractors. We build dedicated JavaScript, React, Node.js and full-stack teams for startups, scale-ups and digital agencies across the US, UK, EU and Australia.
What “dedicated development team” actually means in 2026 — and when it makes sense
A dedicated development team is not a project outsourcing deal. It is a long-term working arrangement where a group of developers — matched to your stack, your product stage and your working style — are allocated specifically to your company. They are not split across five other clients. They attend your standups, work inside your codebase, follow your sprint cadence and are accountable to you directly.
This model works best when your requirements evolve continuously, when you need sustained development capacity over 3+ months, or when building and maintaining an in-house team is either too slow or too expensive for your current stage. It is a poor fit for a one-time fixed-scope project where staff augmentation or a fixed-price build is more appropriate — we say that upfront rather than sell you the wrong model.
At Valant Software, every dedicated team comes with a named team lead, transparent sprint reporting and direct Slack or Teams communication — no middlemen.
Dedicated team configurations we build
We assemble teams around your actual stack and product stage — not off a pre-packaged menu. These are the most common configurations clients request.
Dedicated JavaScript full-stack team
A complete JavaScript team covering frontend (React, Next.js, Vue), backend (Node.js, Express, NestJS) and the layer between — API design, database logic, auth, integrations. The most requested configuration. Works well for SaaS products, dashboards, platforms and web applications that need both UI and API work running in parallel.
Dedicated team for startups
Early-stage companies need a team that moves fast, gives technical direction and does not over-engineer. We build lean dedicated teams for startups that want to go from idea to working product in 8–12 weeks without hiring 10 people. The team leads architecture decisions, flags scope creep and focuses on what ships — not on what looks impressive in demos.
Dedicated team for scale-ups and enterprise
Larger organizations need dedicated teams that integrate into existing engineering structures, follow internal processes, use agreed tooling and can work alongside in-house developers without creating friction. We build teams for companies that already have engineers and need reliable additional capacity — not a separate agency running in parallel.
White-label dedicated team for digital agencies
If you run a digital agency and need development capacity to deliver for your clients without hiring, we work as your invisible backend team. We operate under your brand, follow your briefing process, never contact your clients directly and sign whatever NDA structure you need. The arrangement is common — agencies that want to scale delivery without building a full in-house team.
How we assemble and run a dedicated team
From first call to active development. No handoff surprises. You see the team before you sign.
01. Requirements and team design
We spend the first call understanding your stack, product, pace, team size and what good looks like to you. We then design a team composition — roles, seniority level, collaboration model — and send a written proposal with CVs within 2–4 business days.
- Written scope and team structure before anything is signed
- Real CVs of proposed developers — not generic profiles
- You interview the team leads if you want to
02. Agreement and onboarding
Contract covers team composition, IP assignment, NDA, replacement clause and monthly flexibility. Onboarding takes 3–5 business days: repo access, communication channels, sprint board setup, first sprint planning call.
- IP fully assigned to client — no vendor lock-in
- NDA standard, no negotiation required
- Onboarding checklist shared on day one
03. Sprint-based delivery with full visibility
The team works in 1–2 week sprints. You see working software at the end of each sprint — not a status report. Blockers, scope changes and timeline shifts are flagged at sprint close, not on the day of the deadline.
- Demo every sprint — actual working features
- Daily async updates in your preferred channel
- Direct access to every developer, no proxy
04. Scale, replace or close — on your terms
If you need to add a developer, we onboard them within a week. If someone leaves, we replace within 5 business days. If you need to reduce the team, we do it on 30 days notice. If the engagement ends, the code is yours and we do a proper knowledge transfer.
- Scale up or down monthly
- 30-day notice to reduce or close
- Full handover documentation on exit
Dedicated team vs staff augmentation vs freelancer vs fixed project
Choosing the wrong engagement model is one of the most common and expensive mistakes in outsourcing. Here is an honest breakdown.
| Dimension | Dedicated Team | Staff Augmentation | Freelancer | Fixed-price project |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Best for | Long-term product development, 3+ months | Adding 1–3 devs to an existing team | Small isolated tasks under 4 weeks | Defined, stable scope with clear spec |
| Ownership of product direction | ✓ You own it fully | ✓ You own it | Depends on contract | Shared during delivery |
| Team continuity | ✓ Same team throughout | Varies by person | ✗ High churn risk | Varies by agency |
| Flexibility on scope changes | ✓ Handled in next sprint | ✓ High flexibility | Renegotiate each time | ✗ Change orders, delays |
| IP ownership | ✓ Full assignment to client | ✓ Full assignment | Must be specified in contract | Usually yes, varies by contract |
| Typical monthly cost | $8,000–$25,000 for a 2–5 dev team | $4,500–$10,000 per developer | $15–$80/hr, unpredictable | Lump sum, often underestimated |
| Ramp-up time | 5–10 business days | 3–7 business days per person | 1–3 days but risk of wrong hire | 2–5 weeks for scoping phase |
Not sure which model fits your situation? Talk to us — we recommend the one that makes sense for your project, not the one that is more profitable for us.

Who hires a dedicated team from Valant — and why
The same service solves different problems depending on the company’s stage. Here is the honest version of each use case.
Startups building their first product
You have a product idea, maybe a design, maybe a CTO — but no development team yet. Hiring takes 3–6 months. A dedicated team is live in 10 days. You get senior developers who have built SaaS products before and can contribute to technical decisions, not just execute tickets.
Scale-ups that outgrew their team
Your in-house team is at capacity. Hiring is too slow for the current sprint backlog. You need 2–3 additional developers for 6+ months who can integrate immediately into your existing workflow, your Jira board, your codebase conventions — without a six-week ramp-up.
SaaS companies building new features
You have a live product and a growing roadmap. Internal capacity is needed for maintenance and firefighting. A dedicated team handles the new feature stream — React frontend, Node.js backend, integration work — while your team stays focused on the core.
Digital agencies with client delivery pressure
You sell development capacity but your in-house team is full. We work as your white-label backend — building under your brand, following your PM process, never engaging with your clients directly. You deliver on time, we stay invisible.
Companies in the US hiring Ukraine-based developers
Ukraine has 350,000+ IT professionals, strong English proficiency and rates 40–60% below the US market for equivalent seniority. Time zone overlap with US East Coast is 4–6 hours. We handle compliance, contracts and HR — you get the output.
European companies needing nearshore teams
For EU companies, Ukraine is a nearshore location — same working hours, close cultural alignment, no 8-hour async delay. German, Dutch, Nordic and UK clients get 6–8 hours of daily overlap, which is enough to run synchronous standups and fast review cycles.
What a dedicated development team from Ukraine actually costs
Honest numbers. The range is wide because team size and seniority vary. We give exact pricing in the proposal — not after you sign.
Lean startup team
1 tech lead + 1–2 full-stack developers. Suitable for MVP builds, early-stage SaaS, focused feature work.
$6,000–$12,000
per month · based on seniority and team size
Standard product team
2 frontend + 1–2 backend + QA. Standard configuration for growing products with active feature roadmaps.
$14,000–$22,000
per month · most common configuration
Full cross-functional team
5–8 developers + tech lead + PM + QA. For scale-ups and enterprise with ongoing product development at scale.
$22,000–$40,000
per month · depends on composition
Individual developer rates: $35–$65/hour depending on stack and seniority. Detailed rate card in the proposal after the first call. See also: Pricing & Engagement Models

Red flags to watch for when hiring a dedicated development team
These are the patterns that show up in vendor relationships that go badly. Most are visible before you sign, if you know what to look for.
Senior developers sold, juniors delivered
The most common bait-and-switch in the industry. You meet senior engineers during the sales process. Junior or mid-level developers show up after the contract is signed. Ask for names and CVs before you sign, and ask who else has a claim on their time.
Rates dramatically below market
Quotes significantly below $35/hour for a senior developer are almost never a genuine efficiency advantage. Either requirements were misread or the estimate is deliberately low to win the contract, with margin recovered through change orders later.
No IP assignment in the contract
In many jurisdictions, if the contract does not explicitly assign IP to the client, ownership can default to the vendor. Full IP assignment on final payment is standard. Anything that requires negotiation here is a warning sign.
Vague onboarding process
A vendor who cannot describe what the first two weeks look like in concrete terms — who sets up what, what the first sprint contains, who orientates the team — has not run enough dedicated team engagements to have a repeatable method.
No single point of contact
When accountability is fragmented across multiple team members with no one responsible for the overall engagement, problems escalate slowly and are flagged late. One named team lead with clear ownership is non-negotiable.
Resistance to reference calls
One 20-minute conversation with a past client tells you more than a 2-hour vendor presentation. Any vendor that resists connecting you with past clients — especially for a similar project type — is protecting information you need to have.

Questions about hiring a dedicated development team
How long does it take to assemble a dedicated team?
For a standard 3–5 person team, 5–10 business days from the time the proposal is agreed. Larger teams or specialized stack requirements (Rust, mobile-only, AI) may take 10–15 days. We share CVs within 2–4 days of the first call so you can assess fit before committing.
What is the difference between a dedicated team and staff augmentation?
Staff augmentation (more here) adds individual developers to an existing team that you manage. A dedicated team comes with a team lead, its own sprint structure and collective ownership of delivery. For companies without an existing development team, dedicated model is usually the right starting point. For companies with an in-house team that just needs extra hands, augmentation is faster and lighter.
What happens if a developer on our team leaves?
We replace within 5 business days at no additional cost to you. The replacement process uses the same CV review and, if you want, interview step as the original hire. This is written into the contract — not a verbal promise.
Do we own the code and intellectual property?
Yes. Full IP assignment to the client on final payment is standard in every engagement contract. No vendor lock-in, no repository withholding, no negotiation required. You get the code, documentation and credentials on delivery.
How do you handle time zone differences for US clients?
Ukraine is UTC+2/+3. US East Coast clients get 4–6 hours of daily overlap; West Coast clients get 1–3 hours. In practice, async-first communication handles most of the daily development work. We schedule daily standups and sprint demos in a window that works for both sides without requiring anyone to work outside normal hours every day.
Can we scale the team up or down during the engagement?
Yes. Adding a developer takes 5–7 days. Reducing the team requires 30 days notice. Closing the engagement requires 30 days notice and a full handover sprint. There is no minimum term beyond the first month, no lock-in contract and no penalty for scaling down.
What if we already have a codebase from a previous team?
We do code audits before taking over any existing codebase — usually 3–5 days. You get an honest written assessment: what is solid, what needs refactoring, what is a genuine risk. Some codebases are fine. Some need partial rewrite. We tell you which and why, before any work starts.
Do you work with companies in Germany, the Netherlands, the UK and other EU markets?
Yes. We have long-term clients across Western Europe. EU-based management in Spain means standard EU contract frameworks, GDPR compliance and no unusual jurisdiction or IP risk. Related: Germany · Netherlands · UK · Nordics
